Simon from Fr. Kevin Mullan of the parish on 15 March 2012. Parents named as Francis McCanney and Mary Dolan.

      IMMIGRATION:
      Immigrated to the United States aboard the S.S. Columbia, sailing from Londonderry on 2 September 1911 and arriving in New York on 10 September 1911. Record gives his place of birth as Drumquin; names his father as Francis McKenna of Cooel, Drumquin, and states that he was headed to his sister, Mary Delaney, in Philadelphia. Original record on the Ellis Island Foundation website.
      Immigrated to Canada in 1912, according to entry in 1916 Census of Canada. Consistent with family history compiled by Patrick Teague and shared as an informal communication to Robert Simon on 29 September 2011, that Frank McKenna eventually settled in Canada and had two children there.

      Wife identified as Bridget Donnelly from County Derry, according to family history shared in 2016 by Rita McDonagh (nee McElholm), a niece.

      DEATH:
      Full date of death given as 8 December 1918 in Manitoba Probate Records, 1871-1930 on familysearch.org. File number 3186. Affadavit contained in this file (6th image in the online file) states that Frank McKenna, farmer of the village of Holland, Manitoba, died in the City of Winnepeg on this date, leaving his widow Bridget and "two infant children 4 and 6 years old."
      Full date of death also given in death indexes online with the Manitoba Vital Statistics Agency (vitalstats.gov.mb.ca) for Frank McKenna. The detailed view of his record (Registration number 1918-071106) gives the location of death as "St Bon," likely a reference to St. Boniface Hospital in Winnepeg, Manitoba.
      According to oral family history shared by his niece, Rita McDonagh (nee McElholm), he died in the great influenza epidemic.

      ADDITIONAL FAMILY ORAL HISTORY:
      According to family history compiled by Patrick Teague and shared as an informal communication to Robert Simon on 29 September 2011, eventually settled in Canada and had two children there. One was named Mary and her married surname was Davis.
      According to family history shared in 2016 by Rita McDonagh (nee McElholm), a niece, Frank McKenna went to Toronto, Canada from Philadelphia and had two children in Canada, known to Irish relatives as Minnie and Frankie. His wife was Bridget Donnelly from County Derry. His daughter Minnie married a man whose surname was Davis and they had 3 girls.
