- Also identified as the child of Alexandre Barcant and Rosa Emma O'Brien in the "Tardieu Family Tree" compiled in May 1984 by Anne Alleyne and provided in the papers of Geoffrey Barcant.
- Mentioned by name in the second codicil to the will of Elizabeth (née Mathalony) Barcant, her grandmother, dated 18 June 1893, so was born before this date.
- Mentioned as having passed the 1895 Kensington Examinations in seven subjects (and having gained honors in six) in a story in the Port of Spain Gazette, 19 March 1896, page 3. Ethel Stone was reported to have achieved the same marks, and her birth year is known to be 1878, so Leonie Barcant was likely born about this year, as well.
