BZ25 is part of the Q-Y2200 subclade, which is composed principally of Ashkenazi Jews.
The founding member of the Q-Y2200 subclade is estimated to have lived around 650 B.C., and the Most Recent Common Ancestor of the group (prior to its division into genetically distinct subgroups) is estimated to have lived around 450 A.D. The age of BZ25 can be estimated from Y2750, for which the Most Recent Common Ancestor is estimated to have lived around 750 A.D.
Current members of this haplogroup appear to live predominantly in eastern Europe. Whether the subclade arose there, and Levin Simon is a descendant of a move back into Germany, or whether it arose in Germany and the progeny we know of moved east, is not currently known.
As of 1 January 2017, this individual is the only BZ25 in the FT-DNA database.
