"Elizabeth Mae Hurd, 71
"DOVER - Elizabeth Mae Hurd of Dover died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 71.
"Mrs. Hurd was born Dec. 24, 1932, daughter of the late Harry T. and Alice C. Collins Dear.
"She worked for the Capital School District as a cafeteria worker for 25 years, retiring in 1991.
"Mrs. Hurd, in her spare time, enjoyed her family, country music, cooking, playing bingo and playing the slots.
"She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Carol Hurd of Dover; a son, James Hurd of Dover; a daughter, Linda Blanchfield of Dover; a brother, Harry T. Dear Jr. of Dover; a sister, Reba J. Burris of Dover; three grandchildren, Jimmy Hurd, Mark Hurd and Melvin Blanchfield Jr.; and four great-grandchildren, Chase O'Neill, Noah Blanchfield, Melvin Blanchfield III and James Lee Hurd.
"Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in the Trader Funeral Home Inc., 12 Lotus St., Dover, where friends may call two hours earlier.
"Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover."
