Notes - BIRTH:
Month and year of birth would be August 1708, given his baptismal date of 5 August 1708 in the parish registers records of St. Johannis RC Church, Glandorf, Germany, file "Taufen F002-1" (1699-1710), page 345, third entry. Name given (in Latin) as Jo[ann]es Wilhelmus Steltenkampff, the son of Wilhelmi and Mariae. Record available at http://data.matricula-online.eu/en/deutschland/osnabrueck/glandorf-st-johannis/0044/?pg=50.
CHRISTENING:
Full date of baptism given as 5 August 1708 in the parish registers of St. Johannis RC Church, Glandorf, Germany, file "Taufen F002-1" (1699-1710), page 345, third entry. Witnesses--Jo[ann]es Lanckhorst and Anna Lamper. Record available at http://data.matricula-online.eu/en/deutschland/osnabrueck/glandorf-st-johannis/0044/?pg=50.
MARRIAGE:
Full date given as 21 April 1733 in marriage record in the parish registers of St. Johannis RC Church, Glandorf, Germany, file "Heiraten F002-5" (1699-1743), page 1586, sixth entry. Record available at http://data.matricula-online.eu/en/deutschland/osnabrueck/glandorf-st-johannis/0028/?pg=34.
DEATH:
Full date given in death record for Jo[h]Wilhelm Steltenkampf in the parish registers of St. Johannis RC Church, Glandorf, Germany, file "Beerdigungen F003-3" (1744-1763), page 1930, second column, third entry from the bottom. The placement of this record on the page creates some ambiguity as to the date. It is preceded and followed in the second column by death dates in January 1752, but is out of sequence -- coming between records dated 28 January and 30 January, but bearing the number "18." The dates in this column only have months attached to them when they are the first date recorded in a given month. The record is directly next to another Steltenkamp death record in the first column, which is dated 18 November 1751. Given this, it seems most reasonable to conclude that two Steltenkamp deaths on the same day were entered side-by-side, and that the January deaths were later fitted around them. For this reason, the date of 18 November 1751 is assigned to this record. Record available at http://data.matricula-online.eu/en/deutschland/osnabrueck/glandorf-st-johannis/0003/?pg=10.
