Documents Tithe Applotment - 1828 - Ballymacavany Townland
1828 Title Applotment record for Ballymacavany Townland, showing joint tenancy of Peter and Owen McKane for 12 acres and 22 perches of land.
Listed as a co-tenant with Teague McKane and then as the successor tenant in rental books of the Leslie Pettigo Estate. This suggests that he was his son.
Listed as a joint tenant with Peter McKane in 1828 Tithe Applotment Book for Ballymacavany townland, consistent with an identification as the brother of Peter McKane.
Widow named as Mary McKane in 1857 Griffith's Valuation and in 1858 survey of the Leslie Estate.
His wife, Mary McKane, is listed as the "widow of Owen McKane" in the 1858 survey of the Pettigo Estate, in the National Library of Ireland. She is also listed by her first name in the 1857 Griffith's Valuation of Tenements for Ballymacavany. Thus, he must have died before 1857.
