"Rena A. Rhodes
"Age 92, of New Castle, died Friday, August 19, 2011 in the Christiana Hospital surrounded by her loving granddaughters.
"Rena worked at the U.S. Post Office and for many years as a cook for Mr. West in several of his local markets/diners, where she was well known for her great cooking and baking. Rena also worked for 17 years at Ioannoni's Market on 9th St. in New Castle.
"Rena enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved to cook, bake, read the newspaper and do the crossword puzzles, as well as spend time in her backyard.
"She was preceded in death by her daughter: Elizabeth O'Neal. Rena is survived by her daughter: Deborah Freebery; her niece: Roxanne Nutter; her grandchildren: Andrea "Randi" Cochran, Brooke Cochran, Patrice "P.E." Foster, Stephen "Freddie" Freebery; her great-grandchildren: Erica, Michael, Tyler, Kayla and Anthony; and her great-great-granddaughter: Brianna.
"Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family."
