  BIRTH: Linked to parents through mention of spouse and daughter in her father's will. A birth year of about 1825 is guessed at, from the combination of entries for the Hurd family in the 1830 and 1840 U.S. Censuses. See entries under "Age Distribution of Household" with notes accompanying the entry for her father, Thomas Hurd. Assignment of such a birth year to Ann Hurd is speculative, pending further and more definitive information. DEATH: Will of father, Thomas Hurd, dated 1 September 1856, refers to Ann's daughter and husband, but not to her. All other children are mentioned in the will, leading to the conclusion that she died before this date. A marriage bond between William Wix and a second wife, dated 15 December 1846, indicates that she died before this date.
