  • Notes
    • BIRTH:
Year of birth would be 1803-1804, according to age (78 years) in December 1882 Irish Civil Registration death record, a copy of which is in the possession of Robert M. Simon.
Consistent with being of sufficient age to marry in April 1836.
A Denis Monaghan is a tenant in Ballymacavany Townland in the 1828 Tithe Applotment Book, and perhaps he was her father. However, she had no children named Dennis, so this connection is only speculative at this point.

      DEATH:
Full date of 2 December 1882 and location of Ballymacavany given in Irish Civil Registration death record for Grace Carr. In the death record for October-December 1882, volume 2, page 33, entry 241. Copy of this record is in the possession of Robert M. Simon. Informant was his son, Thomas Carr, Ballymacavany.
Year of death given as 1882 in tombstone inscription recorded in "Carne Graveyard, Pettigo, County Donegal," by Rev. P.O. Gallachair, P. Slevin, and John Cunningham, Donegal Annual, 1980, pages 135-137. Text of the tombstone: "In memory of Grace Carr who died A.D. 1882; also her husband Simon Carr, died A.D. 1888, erected by their son Thos. Carr"
