- Year of birth would be 1853-1854, according to age (26 years) in July 1880 in his marriage record in the church records of St. Michael's RC Church, Baltimore, Maryland. Parents named as William Meyer and Margaret Jack, both from Papenburg.

He designated his second wife as his executrix, but the will was administered by one of his children, suggesting that she died before he did. A list of his children in the files also is missing some known to be born to him, suggesting that they died before the will was probated, as well.
The will is also filed in the City of Baltimore Register of Wills, Liber E.R.D. no. 158, folio 388.
